ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT GABY'S RESTAURANT

Gaby's is a Portuguese restaurant hidden away behind a wall on a side street one block off of Trente Juin Boulevard. It is owned and operated by a Portuguese family, third or fourth generation Congolese. About 300 Portuguese are left from a several thousand population from before the civil war. When Mobutu confiscated foreign assets many fled.

In the courtyard.

All of us taken by one of the guards.

The guards and parking attendant by the entrance gate.

Great ambiance at Gaby's.

The peanuts were spiced with jalapeno.

The very congenial proprietor. I think his name is Gabriel.

Fair salade Nicoise, good presentation.

The beef was recommended, and very good--T-bone.

Sue had the filet.

Forty-six years and counting. She looks good, and I a little worse for wear. It's the hair.
