MISCELLANEA

When the Moons go to their office in the Temporal Affairs building, they gather the roaches that have died. This is a week long accumulation upon returning from South Africa.

We often buy vegetables and fruit from this vendor at a small stand on a back road near the Temporal Affairs office.

Behind the vegetable stand was a cluster of palm oil fruit. Each individual fruit is full of reddish oil which is pressed from the fruit and used everywhere in the Congo.

This African Fig Tree lost its leaves while we were gone and is now growing new ones. The figs cluster in bunches near the trunk. Note that we are on the third floor, and the tree towers another two stories high.

The figs are visible in clusters.
Three yellow, ripe figs are visible just left of center and two of our friendly doves that come for the seed that I put on our porch.
Two squash plants that I grew from seed saved from a squash purchased at the marche. We will see if they succeed in growing fruit.
